The program introduces interested college students to a variety of UTP-H service lines within the Combined Protection Model and provides firsthand experience and training on access control and video surveillance system architectures, general institutional security initiatives, and other police support functions such as outreach, administration, and risk management.
During the program, the selected student will observe and participate in department project initiatives and will gain experience in various facets of security design, security commissioning, security management, and other police support functions. The majority of time will be spent on doing actual hands-on work that will provide the student with practical work experience that compliments their academic course work.
This training opportunity is a 10-week paid internship, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The start and end dates are flexible during summer 2022 but must be consecutive.
Student must be currently enrolled and in good academic standing in an undergraduate program in the United States and be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or international student on F1 or J1 visa to apply.
