Worship & Meditation
The Department of Chaplaincy offers regular worship services, intercessory prayers, sacramental ministry and pastoral support. The chapels and prayer rooms are open to anyone seeking solace through prayers and meditation.
Worship services may be viewed live in patient rooms on MDA-TV, Channel 24. Other religious programs are available through the MDA-TV on-demand system.

LAUGHTER YOGA @

“Rediscover Your Joy and Laughter No Matter What”
The group began to hum with playful laughter and infectious humor. Smiles, laughter, and levity began to bubble up and flow around the room in a wave of joy. After 20 minutes of play, the group is led into a Laughter Meditation. Eyes are close, breathing is slowed and soon, snickers, giggles, and laughter erupt throughout the room. The session is ended.
Cancer patients and caregivers report that they feel refreshed, relaxed, and rejuvenated. I make my way back to the main hospital and a married couple and their friend tag along. Their friend says, “Chaplain, considering the recent challenges in my life, I have not laughed in over a year. In fact, I did not know if I could laugh again.”
Now; mind you; she had just spent the last 30 minutes“laughing her head off” during a Laughter Yoga Session. I said, “Well, you’ve still got it.” She smiled and turned away to follow her friends. As I made my way to my office, I thought to myself, “Yep, she’s still got it.” “She’s still got her Laughter.” “May we all rediscover ‘Our Joy and Laughter’ no matter what.”
