Image Reconstruction

3DRP Algorithm vs. Phantom Pattern

Several 3D and 2D algorithms are used for PET image reconstruction. Two image slices of the Hoffman brain phantom reconstructed with the 3DRP algorithm (left) are compared with the phantom pattern (right). The phantom structures are reasonably reproduced.

3D-OSEM vs. Phantom Pattern

One image slice reconstructed with 3D-OSEM (left) is compared to the phantom pattern (right).

3DRP vs. Several Popular Methods

3D image reconstruction methods are very time consuming. In clinical application usually the 3D sinogram data are rebinned in 2D data, or data are taken in 2D mode, and these 2D data are used for image reconstruction. A reconstructed image for several popular methods are compared to 3DRP result.
