Protein and Metabolite Analysis Facility

Department of Molecular Carcinogenesis faculty utilize the Protein & Metabolite Analysis Facility at UT Austin as members of the user group on a CPRIT Shared Instrumentation Award. The core supports investigators in the detection, characterization and quantification of proteins and metabolites. Services include: protein identification of interacting partners and the associated protein pathways via LC-MS/MS of affinity-purified protein complexes; post-translational modification analysis including phosphorylation, methylation, ubiquitination and acetylation via high-resolution FT-MS instrumentation to identify novel signaling marks; and quantitative proteomics using label-free and stable isotope labeling methods to monitor protein expression patterns across hundreds of proteins simultaneously.
