Neurofibromatosis Working Group
The Neurofibromatosis Working Group is a collaborative effort between the departments of Neurosurgery, Investigational Cancer Therapeutics and Neuro-Oncology. Our aim is to provide outstanding care for patients with neurofibromatosis and to perform cutting-edge research leading to new treatments for these disorders. Neurofibromatosis (1 and 2) are distinct single-gene disorders. The genes involved produce abnormal proteins that signal through key growth and differentiation pathways in the cell.

How You Can Help
Denise Terrill Charity Classics is a non-profit volunteer group that holds annual golf and tennis charity tournaments in the memory of Denise Terrill, who passed away in 2009 after a lifelong battle with NF. The Charity Classics provide funding for research aimed at improving neurofibromatosis treatments and ultimately to find a cure. One hundred percent of the net proceeds goes to research.
Mrs. Minerva Terrill and board member Tom Kyle of the Denise Terrill Charity Classics present a check to Dr. Razelle Kurzrock and Dr. John Slopis of the NF Working Group during their recent visit to Dr. Kurzrock’s laboratory. These funds will be used to continue vital preclinical and clinical studies aimed at finding a treatment for patients who suffer from Neurofibromatosis 2.
