The mission of the Division of Pharmacy is to ensure safe, effective and cost-conscious medication use and to work synergistically with health care colleagues to promote optimal drug therapy outcomes through the development of integrated, quality programs in patient care, research and education.

Patient Care Services
Patient Care Services consist of:
- Clinical Services
- Investigational Pharmaceutical Services
- Financial and Purchasing / Inventory Management
These sections work synergistically to provide services that are responsive to patient care needs.
The inpatient section provides comprehensive drug distribution services including unit dose, IV admixtures and specialized systems for controlled substances and investigational agents. Pharmacists participate on the "Code Blue" team.
The outpatient section provides prescription services and specialized dispensing for chemotherapy treatment areas to accommodate ambulatory patients.
Robotic dispensing systems are used in both the inpatient and outpatient pharmacies.
Pharmacists actively participate in providing patient education for ambulatory chemotherapy and alternate drug delivery options.
Clinical Pharmacy Services
The section of Clinical Pharmacy Services provides comprehensive direct patient care services, collaborates and initiates clinical research, and promotes rational drug therapy. Clinical services provided are tailored to patient care needs and include pharmacokinetic monitoring, pharmacokinetic dosing, metabolic support and patient education. Current emphasis in drug therapy management includes drug safety, efficacy and issues in supportive care.
Core services include bone and marrow transplantation, breast medical oncology, cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, drug information, gastrointestinal oncology, genitourinary oncology, gynecologic oncology, infectious disease, internal medicine, investigational drugs, leukemia, lymphoma, melanoma/sarcoma, nutrition support, palliative care, pediatrics and thoracic/head and neck.
