Educational Programs

Pharmacy Academic Programs

Pharmacy Academic Programs coordinates academic education programs, staff professional development, employee orientation and training programs, continuing professional education and postgraduate and undergraduate pharmacy training programs. It also coordinates Division of Pharmacy quality assurance and specified medication safety systems and processes coordination and compliance.

Postgraduate education encompasses the conduct of two American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited specialty residency programs and a professional pharmacy fellowship program. Undergraduate experiential rotations are coordinated with affiliated Texas Colleges of Pharmacy. Focused postgraduate specialty experiential education programs are also conducted. Continuing education provision includes the conduct of internal and extramural programs, such as the annual Pharmacy Symposium on Cancer Chemotherapy.

Specialty pharmacy residency programs and fellowships include the following:

  • Pharmacy PGY2 Residency in Oncology
  • Pharmacy PGY2 Residency in Critical Care/Nutrition Support
