Community Resources
Imagine being called to the bedside of a congregant being treated for cancer at M. D. Anderson. There are so many questions you may have: How do I find the patient? Where do I park? Am I comfortable visiting a cancer patient? Can I get additional training?
M. D. Anderson's Spiritual Pathways program can help answer these questions. By becoming a registered clergy professional, you can enhance your patient's pastoral care through a partnership with the Chaplaincy Department. We are trained in pastoral care and have extensive experience in caring for cancer patients. Together, we can function as a comprehensive care team in the spiritual support and sustenance of your congregants.
As a registered professional, you will have access to our Chaplaincy Speaker's Bureau, as well as continuing education through seminars at M. D. Anderson. We can also provide on-site lay training for coping with cancer at the spiritual level.
Spiritual Pathways also provides ways to network with colleagues who are interested in pastoral partnerships between M. D. Anderson and the community, and opportunities to reach larger audiences by promoting your programs through our web site.
