Lectures and Seminars
Interaction between faculty, clinicians and students is highly encouraged. Numerous program activities foster this environment, including the following seminars and meetings:
Weekly calendar of all events
John H. Blaffer Seminar Series
Tuesdays at 4 p.m. in the Onstead Auditorium, BSRB (S3.8012)
Each week from September through May, at the John H. Blaffer Seminar Series, an internationally recognized scientist is invited to speak and present his or her latest results. Students have the opportunity to meet and interact with these distinguished scientists, and each year they are encouraged as a group to select, invite and host a speaker for one of the Blaffer lectures.
Research Seminar Series
Thursdays at 12 p.m. (noon) in the Large Classroom, BSRB Room 3.8371
In the Research Seminar Series, scheduled on a rotational basis, a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow presents his or her most recent work. Contact Dr. Andreas Bergmann at abergman@mdanderson.org, for more information.
Journal Club
Fridays at 12 p.m. (noon) in Room S7.8328 (7th floor conference room)
At Journal Club, graduate students and postdocs select a recent journal article outside their area of research to report on. The purpose is to expand individual research knowledge and encourage interaction between numerous specialties in research.
