Prevention & Screening

All of us can take steps toward reducing our risks for certain cancers. Consult your healthcare provider at your next exam about strategies you can take to reduce your risks of developing cancer.

Four steps to start you on your way

  1. Be aware of symptoms – Pay attention to your body and report any unusual changes to your doctor.
  2. Follow screening guidelines – Ask your doctor about recommended screening guidelines.
  3. Discuss risks factors with your doctor – Your doctor can inform you about specific factors that may increase your risks of developing cancer.
  4. Investigate your family’s history of cancer – If you have a strong family history of cancer, you may want to learn more about genetic testing.
