User Group & Allocations
The Recombinant Antibody Production Core (RAPC) is supported by a $3.5M Core Facility Grant from CPRIT (RP190507). This award allocates ~$100K per year to provide allotments for the qualified cancer-related research projects of RAPC User Group Members. Allotments will be awarded on an ongoing basis to User Group Members to help defray the costs associated with using the RAPC for recombinant antibody production services and/or developing new core capabilities to meet User Group Member needs, especially for projects that will encourage collaborative partnerships.
To be considered for an allotment, a User Group Member must submit an abstract describing the project that will require RAPC services, the expected number and kinds of recombinant antibodies required for the project, and the source(s) of funding for the project. Applications will be screened by Drs. McBride and Bedford who will then make recommendations to the RAPC Oversight Committee for final approval. Investigators with costs exceeding the awarded allotment are required to pay for the balance from another funding source.
Competitive allowances will be awarded to User Group Members with meritorious projects based on these primary criteria:
1) Cancer research-based projects of User Group Members
2) Projects expected to extend current capabilities and/or lead to new RAPC capabilities
3) Early career-stage cancer research investigators in Texas.
Mandatory requirements of award acceptance are:
1) Acknowledgement of the RAPC and RAPC CPRIT grant (RP170628) in all submitted manuscripts and publications utilizing RAPC resources and services
2) Submission of an annual Progress Report updating outcome and productivity of RAPC-related research, including a summary of findings and a PDF containing associated figures/tables derived from publications and submitted manuscripts utilizing RAPC Services.
To request membership in the RAPC User Group, Texas researchers should contact Kevin McBride (kmcbride@mdanderson.org).
