How can I get language assistance?
The International Center has certified interpreters for the following languages:
- American Sign Language
We also provide interpreters for languages not listed, but a 24-hour notice is required. Telephone interpreter service is available 24/7 for Spanish and Arabic. Telecommunications devices (TDD) are available for deaf or hard-of-hearing patients.
For more information or to request interpretation services, call 713-792-7930. After hours, weekends and holidays, call the page operator at 713-792-7090.
Will I have an assigned interpreter for my entire stay?
Language Assistance will provide you with qualified medical interpretation services free of charge during your stay at MD Anderson. However, due to high demand, our interpreters are not exclusively assigned to certain patients. You may have more than one interpreter during your stay.
