Do you treat my type of cancer?
MD Anderson sees and treats every type of cancer.
What are the survival rates for my cancer?
For survival rates and other statistical information, please visit cancer.gov.
If you are looking for MD Anderson specific patient survival rates, unfortunately, we don’t have an accurate way to share this type of information. So many of our patients have been previously treated elsewhere before coming here, that any number we share wouldn’t be a true reflection of MD Anderson’s survival rates.
Do you see patients with benign tumors?
Yes, many of our centers will see patients with a benign tumor. It depends on the location of the tumor.
How often do you treat my type of cancer?
MD Anderson is a comprehensive cancer center so our doctors treat cancer all day, every day. We have specialists in all cancers, including the rarest types. Find out specific information about your type of cancer.
Where can I find more information about a certain type of cancer?
You can view general information about your type of cancer and standard of care here.
What are the standard treatments for my disease?
MD Anderson's standard treatment guidelines for many common cancers can be found on our website. However, these guidelines are not intended to replace a consultation with a MD Anderson physician. At MD Anderson, we know that no two people are exactly alike—and no two cancers are exactly alike, either. That's why each patient receives a treatment plan tailored to his or her particular needs. MD Anderson treats the whole person, taking into account medical history, lifestyle and other health issues.
Do you have doctors that specialize in my type of cancer?
Our faculty and staff include experts in all types of cancer, common and rare.
Can I choose my own doctor?
It is possible to request a doctor; however, patients are usually scheduled with the most appropriate doctor after medical records are reviewed.
