Focus
The 2020 Brain Metastasis Research Symposium is intended to provide practicing physician, physician-researchers and trainees with a current update on advances in the field in order to improve adoption of up-to-date evidence-based practices in clinical care, increased engagement in clinical trials and improved quality of clinical care for patients with brain metastases.
Additionally, this symposium will provide the opportunity to address questions in the field and enable networking across clinicians and investigators from around the world to improve care for patients with brain metastases.
Educational Objectives
After attending the conference, participants should be able to:
- Provide an overview of brain metastases biology (Knowledge, Competence);
- List the fundamentals of microenvironment targeting in brain metastases (Knowledge);
- Assess and utilize existing and emerging targeted therapies for brain metastases in clinical practice (Knowledge, Competence, Performance);
- Evaluate the existing and emerging brain penetrant drugs (Knowledge, Competence);
- Assess the therapeutic benefits and toxicities of radiation interaction with the immune system to improve outcomes in patients with brain metastases (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes);
- Interpret pre-clinical models for brain metastases (Knowledge, Competence);
- Provide an overview of brain metastases biology (Knowledge, Competence).

Evaluation
A course evaluation survey will provide participants with the opportunity to comment on the value of the program content to their practice decisions, performance improvement activities, or possible impact on patient health status. Participants will also have the opportunity to comment on any perceived commercial bias in the presentations as well as to identify future educational topics.

Abstracts will only be accepted electronically (in PDF format) and should be emailed to: 2020BrainMets@mdanderson.org
The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 11:59 PM CST on March 20, 2020. Notification of acceptance for oral or poster presentations will be acknowledged by April 20, 2020.
Authors may submit abstracts of completed work, work in progress, or work submitted elsewhere within the past 12 months. We encourage submission of unpublished data to engage collaborative discussion. Ongoing clinical trials are also welcome.
Abstract Formatting Instructions:
Limit abstracts to 325 words, type in 12-point Times New Roman font, single spaced with one-inch margins, and left justified. Organize the abstract intro: Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. Define all abbreviations. Abstracts must not contain copyrighted material unless permission has been obtained by the author/publisher.

- On-site registration opens at 7:00 am on Friday, May 8. A continental breakfast will be served. The Welcome and Opening Remarks will begin at 7:30 am and the conference will adjourn at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2020.
- Advanced registration is encouraged as space and materials are limited.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
The registration fee, minus a $50 administrative handling fee, is refundable if a written request is received on or before Friday, April 3, 2020. No refunds will be granted after that date. The request for a registration refund must include the tax identification number of the company or institution if registration was paid by a company or institution check.
CME/Conference Management reserves the right to cancel activities prior to the scheduled date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary. Each registrant will be notified by mail, e-mail, or the contact numbers as given on the registration form. In case of activity cancellation, liability of CME/Conference Management is limited to the registration fee. CME/Conference Management will refund the full registration fee

Parking Information
MD Anderson employees are encouraged to park in their normal location; however parking is available at the Mays Clinic garage.
Use Entrance 5 at Holcombe Boulevard at Bertner Avenue to access the garage beneath the Mays Clinic Building. Mays Clinic is adjacent to the conference site, Duncan Building (CPB). Mays Clinic self-parking is $12 per day and valet parking is $15 per day.
From the garage, take the elevators to the second floor and follow the hallway signs to the Duncan Building. After you pass Cool Beans Café on your left, take the Q Elevator Bank , also located on your left, to the Conference Center on the eighth floor.
