The annual Global Academic Programs (GAP) Conference is a forum where MD Anderson and its global network of sister institutions collaborate to develop impactful, innovative ideas and research that help lessen the world’s cancer burden.
The conference rotates host sites between Houston and a sister intuition each year.
Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is set to host of the 2020 annual conference in Melbourne, Australia in November 2020. Dates for the event are being confirmed. This will be the first time MD Anderson is bringing its annual GAP conference to Australia.
The conference theme is "New Frontiers – Leading Inspired Cancer Care.” This theme reflects the speed at which cancer care is changing with the integration of new technologies, while most importantly ensuring that the patient remains at the center of all we do.
Plenary sessions will explore the latest in immunotherapy; what the future in digital and advanced health services might hold including the use of Artificial Intelligence; deep machine learning and robotics; ensuring access to care for all patients through the use of telehealth in delivering clinical trials; and improving patient outcomes through focusing on prehabilitation programs.
All questions should be emailed to GAPconference@mdanderson.org.
