The MD Anderson Alumni & Faculty Association hosts a number of events over the course of the year.
Since 1984, the MD Anderson Alumni & Faculty Association Steering Committee has been charged with nominating the recipients of the annual Distinguished Alumnus Award and the Mike Hogg Award.
The Alumni & Faculty Association hosts an annual reception at the AACR Annual Meeting each spring for alumni, faculty, trainees and colleagues.
Mike Hogg Award
The Mike Hogg Lectureship was established in 1958 and is one of the most prestigious awards at MD Anderson. Candidates for the Mike Hogg Award include Nobel-class physicians and scientists who have made outstanding contributions to their respective fields and are still active in research. Award winners are honored and invited to deliver a lecture as part of the award.
The event is underwritten by the Mike Hogg Fund and hosted by the MD Anderson Alumni and Faculty Association.
Postdocs, Residents Present Work at Trainee Research Day
MD Anderson postdoctoral fellows and graduate medical education fellows and residents participate annually in the institution's Trainee Research Day. Trainees present their research focusing on the basic sciences and on clinic, population and translational science. Endowed fellowships were awarded to fellows nominated by faculty members. The MD Anderson Alumni & Faculty Association is a sponsor of the event.
