Research and Clinical Achievements
This report highlights 148 examples of important research contributions to progress over cancer made by the faculty at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Virtually all of these achievements cite references that identify some of the people involved. The references also document the place each advance held in the world’s scientific literature.
The descriptions of each achievement are organized into five categories:
- Basic and Laboratory Research
- Detection, Predicting Outcomes and Risk Assessment
- Cancer Prevention
- Cancer Management and Quality of Life
- Innovations in Therapy
This is not meant to be an all-inclusive list of MD Anderson’s “top” achievements. Instead, it reflects that scope of endeavor needed in Making Cancer History®.
