The organization of an Annual Texas Symposium and Workshop on Cancer Imaging is an important educational initiative of the Cancer Imaging Network of Texas. This symposium will enable participants to:
- Review the results of ongoing studies funded through CIN-TX and other CPRIT–funded initiatives
- Engage in face-to-face meetings and exchange of ideas
- Facilitate interactions between academia and industry
- Raise public awareness of the role of imaging in diagnosis and therapy of cancer
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has a Department of Continued Medical Education and Conference Management(CME/Conference Management). This department has extensive experience in all aspects of planning, coordinating and conducting conferences and symposia, and will provide such support to this Annual Symposium.
CME/Conference Management works with faculty and staff to plan, implement, evaluate and document educational programs that meet the needs of faculty, staff and other practicing health care professionals both inside and outside of MD Anderson. The MD Anderson CME program, nationally accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), provides guidance in meeting the criteria requirements established by ACCME for program certification (AMA/PRA credit for physicians) and institutional guidelines on MD Anderson sponsorship of events and materials.
