Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core
The Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core provides access to statistical expertise to support interinstitutional collaborations covered by the Partnership grant between the University of Puerto Rico and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. If you already have an established collaboration or are interested in establishing a collaboration, please review all links.
The main objectives for the Core are to:
- Provide statistical support and consultation for all research projects/programs
- Conduct research on new statistical methodology in cancer research
- Mentor and train investigators in research design and statistical methods
The utilization of this Core is required for all research projects. Assigned personnel from the Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core work directly with investigators on study design, sampling design, sample size, random assignment, determination of statistical power, data description, data modeling, data management and quality control. Rigourous application of statistical methods and theory ensure that all research is conducted efficiently and increase the likelihood that useful data will be collected and correctly interpreted.
