Presidential Career Symposium
The Annual Presidential Career Symposium, organized by postdoctoral fellows of sponsoring institutions in the Texas Medical Center, is a unique and exciting event that connects the private and public sector, industry, and academia for the rising generation of graduated scientists to explore their career options. As academic careers have become the exception and not the rule for the vast majority of Ph.D. holders, the Annual Presidential Career Symposium provides a great opportunity for postdocs to learn more about different careers options and how to navigate those career paths.
The upcoming 5th Annual Presidential Career Symposium will be held on February 4, 2016. We are pleased to annouce our keynote speaker will be Dr. Teresa Woodruff, a distinguished professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. The 2016 APCS will host career development workshops, panel discussions featuring experts from a wide-range of scientific careers, exhibitors from various companies and organizations, and networking opportunities throughout the day including an evening reception.
We expect more than 400 doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows from the Texas Medical Center to attend this year's Symposium.
