3rd Annual Postdoctoral Science Symposium
August 1st 2013
Onstead Auditorium, MD Anderson Cancer Center
This year, we welcomed Dr. Irving Weissman from Stanford University School of Medicine as our keynote speaker. Other distinguished speakers included Dr. Renata Pasqualini from MD Anderson Cancer Center and Dr. Michael White from The University of Texas Southwestern.
This year's APSS also featured breakout forums focusing on advanced technologies used in cancer research at MD Anderson Cancer Center. This include Reverse Phase Protein Array (by Dr. Yiling Lu), Bioinformatics (by Dr. Nicholas Navin), Cytometry by Time of Flight (by Dr. Jared Burks), Non-Coding RNA (by Dr. Chang-Gong Liu) and Small Animal Imaging (by Dr. James Bankson).
There were more than 60 poster entries to participate in our open research poster session outside of the Onstead Auditorium throughout the day. Platform presentations given by selected postdoctoral fellows highlighted some of the best cancer research done around the Texas Medical Center.
Total attendance of this year's event exceeded 200, including participants from MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine, Graduate School of Biomedical Science and Rice University.
Special thanks to Tracy Costello, Charlotte Fuselier, Martha Skender and Kristina Brown.
