About Us

The Office of Graduate Medical Education is led by Diane Bodurka, M.D., Vice President for Medical Education and Designated Institutional Official. OGME is responsible for the promotion of educational quality, supervisory oversight, and administrative reliability of MD Anderson Cancer Center's fellowships, residencies, and rotating trainees.


Our mission is to train outstanding leaders in every field of oncology. We will accomplish this by ensuring appropriate resources for, and institutional oversight of, quality programs that provide: 

  • Academically rigorous education, research and scholarly activities.
  • Compassionate, safe and efficient patient care that exemplifies best practices.
  • Training in ethical principles and sensitivity to a diverse patient population.
  • Skills to meet the challenges of the ever changing health care environment.    


Our vision is to be recognized nationally and internationally as the standard for premier Graduate Medical Education Programs that shape and inspire physicians to become teachers and leaders in making cancer history.
