Research Histology, Pathology and Imaging Core - Pathology and Imaging Services
As part of the Research Histology, Pathology and Imaging Core (RHPI), Pathology and Imaging Services provides investigators with expert experimental pathology support. Our staff consult with investigators to formulate an integrated imaging, pathology and histology protocol for each study, with the goal of assuring customized, efficient and comprehensive data collection.
The IVIS Spectrum in vivo imaging system, recently funded by a CPRIT Shared Instrumentation Award, is supported through this core. Pathology and Imaging Services also recently acquired the VetScan2 and HemaVet 950S instruments for determining clinical chemistry and hematology parameters, respectively, using very small volumes of blood. Our staff provide expert interpretation of experimental lesions and development of new methods as needed to support the investigations of departmental scientists.
