Welcome to the Department of Stem Cell Transplantation & Cellular Therapy at M. D. Anderson. Our mission is to utilize transplantation therapies to eliminate cancer and provide personalized patient care. The program also has a strong commitment to clinical and basic science research and to advancing the field of stem cell transplants.

We are one of the largest centers in the world for stem cell transplants, performing more than 600 procedures for adults and children each year, more than any other center in the nation.

Our program is recognized by the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) as a specialized center for matched unrelated donor transplants, and maintains an advanced cell processing laboratory that is dedicated to preparing safe and effective hematologic tissues for transplantation. The apheresis and stem cell collection unit is one of the most active facilities in the world, performing over 1,000 blood stem cell collections annually.
