M. D. Anderson’s HUB Program

After about 20 years, M. D. Anderson’s Historically Underutilized Businesses and Federal Small Business Program has grownHuB Handshake to become a model for many businesses that are creating and building their own programs. M. D. Anderson currently does business with about 1,500 underutilized vendors.

The program encourages both Historically Underutilized Businesses and small businesses to participate in the competitive bid process to increase the number of contracts awarded to these vendors. To be classified as a Historically Underutilized Business, a business must be at least 51% owned and operated by an American woman or minority.
