Myeloproliferative Disorders
MD Anderson Presents Patient Power - April 28, 2009
Myeloproliferative disorders (MPDs) can strike at any age and have no known cause. Symptoms, prognosis and progression vary depending on the patient's age, health and type of disease. MPDs are treated in the leukemia department at MD Anderson, one of the largest hematologic cancer clinics in the world. In this Patient Power program Dr. Srdan Verstovsek will talk about the different myeloprolifative disorders, how they are treated and the advances being made through research and clinical trials, specifically JAK2. You’ll also hear from his patient, Marty, who sought treatment at MD Anderson and is doing very well today.
