Anderson Network’s Hospitality Center Volunteers Honored
Network - Spring 2007
Each year, the Department of Volunteer Services recognizes a corporation, organization, group or individual who has made an extraordinary volunteer contribution to the patients at M. D. Anderson. This year’s recipients are the volunteers in Anderson Network’s two Hospitality Centers, in recognition of their dedication, caring support and the difference they make in the lives of patients and caregivers.
Cancer survivors and caregivers themselves, they offer hope and understanding, along with coffee, juice and cookies, in comfortable, living-room settings in M. D. Anderson’s Main Building and the Mays Clinic. In 2006, more than 67,000 people visited these centers.
The award is named for Joseph T. Ainsworth, M.D., a former vice president for patient care at M. D. Anderson and an advocate of volunteers.
