Healthy Bites: Why join this food challenge?

Do you want to make healthier food choices? Good for you! Eating the right foods and keeping a healthy weight can help reduce your chances of cancer and other diseases.
But maintaining a healthy diet is often easier said than done. That’s why MD Anderson started a new nutrition program called Healthy Bites.
Anyone can participate!
Challenge yourself to make small changes
If you join in, we’ll ask you to complete one of the following nutrition challenges each month in 2013. An added bonus – each challenge supports a cancer prevention nutrition message.
- January: Eat breakfast daily.
- February: Eat every 5-6 hours while you are awake.
- March: Eat more whole grains.
- April: Make MyPlate your plate.
- May: Limit red meat.
- June: Drink more water.
- July: Avoid processed meat.
- August: Dine out less.
- September: Eat more fruits and veggies.
- October: Eat plant-based protein.
- November: Eat less salt.
- December: Drink less alcohol.
You’ll also get new tools, recipes and tips to help you complete each month’s challenge. Need more motivation? Read and watch stories from people who’ve already taken the Healthy Bites challenge. They’ll share their favorite part of the challenge, obstacles they faced and challenge advice.
