Looking for information about lung cancer? You'll find plenty to choose from on the Internet and on bookshelves.

The Learning Center, M. D. Anderson's consumer health library, has compiled a listing of reliable sources to help start your search. Remember that independent research is not a substitute for medical advice. Talk to your health care provider about your questions and concerns.

Investigate on the Web

These websites offer information about lung cancer:

Lung cancer – M. D. Anderson's lung cancer portal offers basic information about the disease and treatment, as well as the latest news and articles on the disease.

Lung Cancer Alliance – Visit this comprehensive site for information on lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, as well as personal stories of survivors. Also featured is news of research and advocacy.

It's Time to Focus on Lung Cancer – With information on lung cancer for patients and caregivers, this site also details the latest clinical trials, meetings and other resources. “Ask the Expert” provides e-mail access to an oncology nurse who will respond within 48 hours.

Lung Cancer Online – Operating as a clearinghouse for information and resources about lung cancer, this site offers helpful links and contact information relating to a variety of topics.

American Lung Association – Lung cancer is one of several lung diseases discussed on this informative site. For free help in kicking the tobacco habit, check out the association's web-based smoking cessation program.

Mesothelioma – MD Anderson's mesothelioma portal offers basic information about the disease, diagnosis, staging and treatment, as well as links to specialists at M. D. Anderson and national resources.
