"Because of my family history and a high reading on a previous PSA (prostate-specific antigen) test, I knew I was at risk for prostate cancer. When LifeCheq came to Brown & Root in September 1995, I scheduled a screening . . . and then arranged further testing at M. D. Anderson. The biopsy was positive, so I had surgery there. Since then, I have been a very vocal proponent of screening and early detection. I think if I hadn't had the screening, the cancer would have progressed and I would have lasted only another few years."
