Language Assistance
A staff of interpreters is available to help non-English- speaking patients communicate in their language. Interpretation is provided for Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Mandarin, Italian, German, French and Vietnamese. With prior notice, interpreters will be provided for other languages.

After hours, weekends and holidays, call the page operator at 713-792-7090 and request the Spanish or Arabic interpreter on call, or the hospital operator (dial 0) will assist you by calling the Language Line. For the hearing-impaired, call the page operator or request assistance from the on-site administrator.
Hearing-Impaired Services
Language Assistance helps hearing-impaired patients communicate by providing auxiliary aids such as qualified sign language interpreters and text telephone (TDD). For patients admitted to the hospital, closed-caption television and a door knocker can be arranged by calling Language Assistance at 713-792-7930.
Bilingual Volunteer Visitors
Bilingual volunteer visitors are available to visit and support non-English-speaking patients and families. For more information, call Volunteer Services at 713-792-7180.
