Make Your First Appointment

International Center interpreter with patientWe appreciate your interest in MD Anderson Cancer Center. An assistant from the International Center, who has worked with patients from your country, will be happy to personally assist you with the process of requesting your first appointment.

MD Anderson has long welcomed international patients and their families, providing invaluable personal assistance and free services that allow patients to focus their energy on the most important thing: fighting cancer. 

To make your first appointment:

Physicians can also refer a patient.

A dedicated International Patient Assistant will contact you to gather:

  • Contact information, language spoken, country traveling from, etc.
  • Medical reports
  • Imaging and pathology (depending on diagnosis)

After your information is received, the International Patient Assistant will submit it to the appropriate medical team for review and to determine the best specialist to care for you. Once an appointment has been granted, the International Patient Assistant will provide you with the appointment details and other helpful information, such as what to expect on your first day.

Appointment times will vary depending on the diagnosis, however please be assured the soonest available appointment will be offered. We do not recommend that you travel prior to confirming an appointment.

I help my patients to solve their problems, remain safely in research treatment programs and maintain the best quality management on their assigned protocol studies. We have the most current medications and investigational drugs available to fight cancer and to help live with cancer. We have lots of wonderful programs like the leading inflammatory breast cancer program and cancer survivorship programs to support patients and their family members. We have the best caring team at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
