Katy Mills Mall, Interstate 10 West
Retail Space 330, across from Rainforest Café
Cancer patients need more blood components than patients with any other disease because the disease often impairs the bone marrow where blood cells are produced. However, blood is typically in short supply during the holiday season.
To maintain the necessary blood supply at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, a blood drive for all blood types will be held at Katy Mills. Type "O" blood donors are universal donors and are especially needed.
Held by the M. D. Anderson Blood Bank, participants will receive a free Christmas T-shirt and a coupon book for discounts at Katy Mills’ stores.
As one of the world’s largest centers for the care of cancer patients, M. D. Anderson uses more than 100 units of blood a day and 35,000 units a year.
The blood drive is sponsored by Katy Mills. For more information, call the M. D. Anderson Blood Bankat (713) 792-7788.
