About Cancer Newsline
Cancer Newsline is a bi-weekly audio podcast series from MD Anderson Cancer Center produced for the lay audience (patients, caregivers and healthy public). Cancer Newsline comprises in-depth conversational interviews with specialists (doctors, nurses, social workers and other MD Anderson experts) and cancer patients. Topics include relevant cancer research, diagnosis, treatment and prevention discussed in laymen’s terms.
What is a Podcast?
A podcast makes an audio file, typically an MP3 file, available online for downloading via an automatic "feed." You can then hear the podcast whenever you want from your computer or a portable media player. To download a podcast, visit our iTunes University page.

Cancer Newsline Host
Lisa Garvin spent 15 years as a radio news reporter and anchor in the Houston/Galveston area before coming to MD Anderson in 2000.
Her broadcasting career included six years as the local anchor of National Public Radio’s Morning Edition. She produced dozens of medical news stories, honing her skills as a subject matter expert on a wide range of medical topics.
Lisa currently works in Communications-Integrated Media department, where she writes and edits web content about cancer.
