The Dent Laboratory, under the supervision of Dr. Sharon Y. R. Dent, studies the role of chromatin and chromatin-modifying proteins in regulating gene expression, genome integrity and other essential cellular processes. A variety of model systems are used, including Saccharomyces cerevesiae, mice, embryonic stem (ES) cells and various tissue culture cell lines.

The Dent Laboratory is part of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Center for Cancer Epigenetics at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.
