2012 Teen Volunteer Process
Daytime Summer Teen Program
All positions for the 2012 Daytime Summer Teen Program are filled and the program is closed.
Information about the 2013 Daytime Summer Teen Program will be posted December 1, 2012.
Year-Round Teen Program
There are limited positions available in both the Evening Year-Round Teen Program and the Weekend Year-Round Teen Program.
Evening Year-Round Program
VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT: Tuesday, September 4, 2012 – May, 2013
Teens may continue to volunteer during the summer if they get prior approval from their volunteer coordinator.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE: Teens volunteer on the same evening each week from
5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
REQUIRMENTS:
- Phone Interview – teen must call Volunteer Services at 713-792-7180 on Wednesday, August 1 between 4:00-7:00 p.m. Phone calls from parents are not accepted. Applications will be mailed to all teens that complete the phone interview.
- Mandatory Teen Information Session - teen must attend with a parent on Saturday, August 11, 2012, 9 a.m.–Noon. The completed application is turned in at this time.
NOTIFICATION: All teens will be notified by email no later than
Friday, August 24, 2012.
Weekend Year-Round Program
VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT: Saturday, September 8, 2012 – May, 2013
Teens may continue to volunteer during the summer if they get prior approval from their volunteer coordinator.
WEEKLY SCHEDULE: Teens volunteer on the same day every other week for either a 4-hour morning or 4-hour afternoon shift. Weekend assignments are alternating Saturdays (1st, 3rd and 5th or 2nd and 4th) or Sundays (1st, 3rd and 5th or
2nd and 4th).
REQUIRMENTS:
