Get Directions

Patients and caregivers can obtain a library card in the Patient/Family Library. Staff must register with the Research Medical Library in the Pickens Academic Tower, Floor 21 to check out books from the Patient/Family Library or other libraries in the Texas Medical Center.

  • The fiction and nonfiction selection in the permanent collection, as well as audio books and CD players, may be borrowed for two weeks after a library card is issued.
  • Paperbacks may be borrowed without a library card.
  • Current best sellers and audio books are purchased on a monthly basis.

Book Donation Policy

Based on limited storage space and infection control requirements, only clean paperback books and current magazines – no more than three months old – are accepted. No harlequins, please.
