How You Can Help

Scholarships for the School of Health Sciences

A scholarship endowment, established with a gift of $25,000 or more, would help the School of Health Sciences (SHS) compete for the best and brightest students to train in the highly technical allied health sciences that support good patient care. Students applying to the eight SHS programs generally must have 90 hours of specified prerequisites from an accredited college or university. The average SHS GPA is 3.2, and scholarship recipients regularly exceed this average. Within one year, SHS students must complete 47 to 57 hours of course work in their selected disciplines to obtain bachelor’s degrees or certificates. SHS graduates routinely score in the top 25 percent on national certification exams and are quickly hired into well-paying professions.

The national shortage of these trained professionals is critical. An endowed scholarship fund would help meet the increased demand for SHS graduates, address a local and national health quandary, and help students launch successful careers in biomedical technology. Donors may name the scholarship endowments they create, and they are invited to attend the annual graduation ceremonies.
