How You Can Help
Holiday Greeting Card Program
October 1, 2009
Dear Friends:
As the holiday season approaches, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center has a unique opportunity for remembering, thanking and honoring your family, friends and clients at this special time of year: our Holiday Greeting Card Program. This service allows you to express your appreciation for these individuals in a memorable way while graciously supporting programs that directly benefit the patients of M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Donations made through the annual Holiday Greeting Card Program provide welcome support for programs that focus on patient assistance, education, prevention and community outreach. These are programs that might not otherwise receive funding. The Holiday Program started in 1990 and has raised more than $2.5 million dollars to support programs such as: Place … of wellness, free mammograms, self examination shower cards, Keeping Kids Tobacco Free Puppet Program, free parking passes, Camp Carefree for adult patients, Cancer Survivorship Package, wigs for patients and educational materials for patients and their families.
For 2009, we are offering two mailing options for sending the lovely bi-fold greeting card designed by one of M. D. Anderson’s pediatric patients. You may provide us with a mailing list of the individuals you would like to honor, and we will send a card to each honoree. Or, if you prefer, we will send the cards to you so that you may add a personal greeting, address the cards and mail them yourself. Please see the enclosed sample of the card.
For additional information, please feel free to visit our Holiday Greeting Program Web site or contact Amy Woolbright in the Development Office at 713-792-3450, 1-800-525-5841 or holiday@mdanderson.org.
We hope you will consider participating in the Holiday Greeting Card Program as an alternative gift idea which honors your family, friends and clients while simultaneously making a difference for M. D. Anderson cancer patients all year long. On behalf of our patients, faculty and staff, we wish you joy during the coming holidays.
Sincerely,
Patrick B. Mulvey
Vice President for Development
