Solexa Sequencing Core FAQs
Who can submit samples to the core?
This Core primarily serves all researchers at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Science Park. It also serves researchers at other Texas Medical Center institutions upon request.
What do I submit to the core?
Double-stranded DNA
How much does it cost?
Charges listed are approximate.
| Service | MD Anderson Investigators | Non-MD Anderson Investigators |
| 36 base single-read sequencing | $1,400 per lane | $1,550 per lane |
| 36 base paired-end sequencing | $1,900 per lane | $2,090 per lane |
| 75 base paired-end sequencing | $2,300 per lane | $2,550 per lane |
| RNA-seq samples to produce ds-cDNA | $350 + sequencing charges |
How much do I need?
- ChIP-Seq: Minimum 10 ng, best about 50 ng
- Genomic DNA: Minimum 100 ng, best <500 ng
- mRNA-seq: Submit 2-10 µg total RNA
In what solution should the DNA be?
<30 µl of TE or 10 mM Tris HCl pH 8.5 (EB buffer)
