Small Animal Imaging Facility
The Small Animal Imaging Facility (SAIF) is a core M. D. Anderson research resource. The SAIF team provides comprehensive imaging support services for M. D. Anderson cancer investigators, including:
- Assistance in experimental design
- Developing specialty equipment and innovative procedures for imaging
- Preparing animals for studies, inducing and maintaining appropriate anesthesia and immobilization of animals during imaging
- Harvesting and marking appropriate tissues for correlation of macroscopic, microscopic and imaging characteristics of the tissue or organ
- Processing and interpreting data for publication or grant preparation
