Microarray Services – Support and Pricing
Bioinformatics Assistance
A statistical analyst from the Bioinformatics Shared Resource is available once a week to assist new users with experimental design. Workshops are held at FCT5.5049, from 1-3 p.m.
Getting Started
The SMF offers its microarray services via an online Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), an application of the ResearchStation. User accounts, project submissions and service requests are managed via the LIMS. MD Anderson users wishing to use the SMF’s microarray services need to fill out the Microarray Services LIMS Account Request Form and email it to ResearchStation@mdanderson.org. Users are notified via email once user accounts have been created.

Access to Data
All data generated by the microarray service is stored and accessed via the ResearchStation. The SMF uploads microarray data to ResearchStation’s Research Data Management Tool (RDMT) via the SMF LIMS connection. Once uploaded to RDMT the data is released for analysis by Faculty in the department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Investigators may request their data be burned to a CD or DVD.

Note: Illumina microarray service requests are not included in the current version of LIMS. These requests are tracked outside the LIMS system.
Microarray Service Prices
The Affymetrics microarray service is divided into: RNA and DNA sample quality verification, target preparation, hybridization, Imaging and signal quantification. Investigators may request our complete microarray processing or choose to have the facility perform partial service. Our prices for the component services are listed below:
