DNA Analysis Facility

The DNA Analysis Facility, established in 1992, is a fee-for-service, shared resource. The purpose of this facility is to provide all peer-reviewed, principal investigators services consisting of state-of-the-art DNA analysis, with the goal to support basic, clinical and population-based cancer research. The primary services offered by the facility include DNA sequencing, fluorescent fragment length analysis, mutation screening, mouse genotyping, gene resequencing and high-throughput SNP analysis.

Please contact the DNA Analysis team at (713) 834-6197 for guidelines for sample preparation and forms for sample submission.

Education

Consultation services are available to principal investigators. These include designing primers for sequencing, or microsatellite analysis, design and optimization of genotyping assays, sequencing difficult template and troubleshooting failed reactions.

The facility holds classes to introduce new services to its users.

Core Grant Citation

This facility is funded by NCI # CA16672 (DAF). Publications should cite the Core grant in the acknowledgment section, if publications use data generated by the Core facility. Two copies of the publication acknowledging the Core grant should also be submitted to the facility at 1515 Holcombe Boulevard, Unit 1006, Houston, TX, 77030.
