In this presentation, learn from our health education specialist, how to navigate Web sites, evaluate natural products for quality and safety and, most importantly, how to discuss complementary and integrative medicine (CIM) with your doctor. Singers Needed for Cancer Survivors Choir: The Celebration Singers
A choral music group for adult cancer survivors is forming at Place ... of wellness. Recent studies have shown that group singing has positive impacts on improving mood, coping strategies, pain management and other health benefits. The choir is led by Michael M. Richardson, M.T.-BC, music therapist at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. If you are an adult cancer survivor who enjoys singing, this is the choir for you! Time: Tuesdays, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

7th Annual Natural Supplements: An Evidence-Based Update

University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center - Integrative Medicine Program 2009 Fall CIM Course
Integrating Body, Mind & Spirit: A Patient-Centered Approach
This course is designed to provide an overview of the major therapies offered through the Integrative Medicine Program and its clinical delivery facility, Place ... of wellness. Course information will specifically focus on integrative approaches which can be used to enhance conventional treatment outcomes. Specific clinical recommendations and resources for referral will be provided. See scheduled sessions below. All classes will be held in the Ambulatory Care Building in the Telehealth Classroom (ACB1.2345), with the exception of the October 22nd class, which will be held in the Faculty Center Towers (PAT 4143 room 3 and 4144 room 6).

Internship and Observer Program in Integrative and Complementary Medicine
M. D. Anderson's Integrative Medicine Program is committed to providing educational opportunities and training for existing and future health care professionals in the area of integrative medicine by offering an excellent internship and observer program.
Undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students with a concentration and interest in health education, complementary and integrative medicine or community and public health may apply for a full-time internship. Our observer program is designed for national and international healthcare professionals and clinicians interested in learning more about integrative medicine in a comprehensive cancer center.

Complementary and Integrative Medicine Topics from Patient Education Office
M. D. Anderson's Patient Education Office collaborates with clinical staff to provide cancer patients, caregivers and the general public with accurate, reliable information to help them make intelligent decisions about cancer care.
Patient Education (PE) Online is a database on the M. D. Anderson intranet that gives M. D. Anderson faculty and staff access to the latest information for patients and families on cancer diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
Some information available on the PE Online intranet site has been made available on Patient Education's public Web site, including topics in complementary and integrative medicine.
