Raising awareness and raising funds for endometrial cancer research is an important part of the Uterine Cancer Research Program’s mission to eradicate this disease. The faculty and staff of the UCRP coordinate and participate in a variety of events each year in an attempt to increase education and awareness in the general public about the symptoms and risk factors for endometrial cancer. In addition to events held for the general public, the UCRP is host to an Annual Uterine Cancer Biology Symposium where women’s health practitioners and endometrial cancer researchers from all disciplines are brought together to hear the latest research and form collaborations that ultimately translate into better healthcare for the women’s community.
Past events that the UCRP has supported or was the beneficiary for include:
- Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Day at Minute Maid Park
- Astros Cookbook Fundraiser
- U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship Luncheon & Fashion Show at Westside Tennis Club
- Endometrial Cancer Survivors Course
- Young Texans Against Cancer Golf Tournament
- and many more
