Lung Cancer Research Program

Funds for lung cancer research come to MD Anderson from the United States Congress. Lung cancer research is a Congressional Special Interest Medical Program, funds for which are directed by Congress to the U.S. Department of Defense budget, managed by the United States Army Medical Research and Materiel Command. These funds were distributed in the form of six grants to to Dr. Hong and MD Anderson's Department of Thoracic/Head & Neck Medical Oncology.
