6.0 Advising and Counseling
Purpose
This policy identifies the availability of advising and counseling services for students. M. D. Anderson views sound academic advising as a significant responsibility in educating students. Program directors and education coordinators will assist students in developing intellectual potential and exploring educational opportunities and life goals.
6.1 Academic Advising
Purpose
Please see the Academic Advising policy, which is published in the Health Professions Student Catalog.
Policy Statement
Program directors and clinical coordinators are available for academic and professional counseling. Students will be scheduled for a counseling session each semester.
6.2 Counseling Services
Purpose
To advise students of the availability of on-campus counseling services.
Policy Statement
It is the policy of the School of Health Professions to advise students of campus resources they may access for counseling services.
