Program Activities

The Cancer Biology Program provides many opportunities for students and faculty to interact both socially and scientifically, including picnics as well as our annual retreat at Moody Gardens on Galveston Island. Our social activities foster a sense of community that helps both students and faculty exchange new ideas and meet old friends.

BBQ Event 2009

The 2009 CBP Barbecue event held on November 15, 2008, was a great success, with about 80 faculty, students and their families attending the event. Feedback received from the participants, especially from first-year students, indicated great enthusiasm. The event was aimed at providing a relaxed atmosphere enabling student-student and student-faculty interactions. The mission of enhancing interactions among faculty and students (both current and new) was a resounding success.
