Presidential Symposium

Annual Presidential Career Symposium

The Annual Presidential Career Symposium, organized by the postdoctoral fellows of sponsoring institutions in the Texas Medical Center, connects the private and public sector, industry and academia for the rising generation of graduated scientists to engage in their next career move. As academic careers have become the exception and not the rule for the vast majority of Ph.D. holders, the Presidential Career Symposium provides a great opportunity for postdocs to become better educated about the career choices they have to help plan for their future.

The upcoming 4th Annual Presidential Career Symposium, will be held on 26th February, 2015. We are pleased to announce that our keynote speaker will be Dr. Sally Rockey, the Deputy Director of Extramural Research at NIH. In addition, the event will feature both workshops and panel discussions. The workshops will provide attendees with tools to focus and aid their job search. The panel discussions will feature engaging speakers from a variety of careers and organizations and give attendees a better understanding of their future careers.

We expect more than 400 doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows from the Texas Medical Center to attend this year's Symposium.
