Female Cancer Screening Module

Description

This module focuses on general principles of detection and prevention of gynecologic, breast, colorectal, skin and lung cancers. This module pays special attention to careful performance of a female cancer-screening exam, including clinical breast exam, and pelvic exam and Pap smear. Participants who complete this module will have basic cancer prevention and early detection skills, but further clinical experience under the direction of a preceptor is recommended.

This module consists of classroom instruction and clinical skills practice with live models, plus clinical rotations that include patient contact and experiences. Clinical rotations are limited and therefore must be approved by the module coordinator or program manager.
